Barangay Poblacion

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Poblacion is one of the administrative divisions of Balbalan in Kalinga, CAR, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Poblacion had a population of 1,397. This made it the 2nd largest of 14 barangays in Balbalan by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion accounted for approximately 10.82% of the total population of Balbalan, which stood at 12,914 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Poblacion moving from 1,296 residents to 1,397 residents, an intercensal change of +7.8%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Poblacion as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Balbalan is a municipality comprising 14 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
