Barangay Zitanga

Barangay Zitanga forms part of Ballesteros, a municipality in Cagayan, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Zitanga had a population of 1,802. This made it the 8th largest of 19 barangays in Ballesteros by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Zitanga accounted for approximately 5.23% of the total population of Ballesteros, which stood at 34,488 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Zitanga moving from 1,708 residents to 1,802 residents, an intercensal change of +5.5%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Zitanga as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
