Barangay Bangate

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Bangate is one of the administrative divisions of Barcelona in Sorsogon, Bicol Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bangate had a population of 845. This made it the 11th largest of 25 barangays in Barcelona by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bangate accounted for approximately 4.03% of the total population of Barcelona, which stood at 20,987 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Bangate moving from 831 residents to 845 residents, an intercensal change of +1.7%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. Barangay Bangate is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
