Barangay Cagang

Situated in Barcelona, Sorsogon, Barangay Cagang is one of 25 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Cagang had a population of 635. This made it the 19th largest of 25 barangays in Barcelona by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cagang accounted for approximately 3.03% of the total population of Barcelona, which stood at 20,987 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Cagang moving from 647 residents to 635 residents, an intercensal change of -1.9%. The trajectory indicates a broadly stable community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Cagang as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Barcelona is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Cagang, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
