Barangay Tugatug

Situated in Bongabon, Nueva Ecija, Barangay Tugatug is one of 28 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Luzon.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Tugatug had a population of 2,259. This made it the 16th largest of 28 barangays in Bongabon by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tugatug accounted for approximately 3.38% of the total population of Bongabon, which stood at 66,839 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,034 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,259 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +11.1%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Tugatug is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Bongabon is a municipality comprising 28 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tugatug, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Nueva Ecija, which contains 849 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Tugatug ranks 381st by 2020 population.
