Barangay Buracan

Situated in Bonifacio, Misamis Occidental, Barangay Buracan is one of 28 barangays that make up the municipality within Northern Mindanao.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Buracan had a population of 1,093. This made it the 16th largest of 28 barangays in Bonifacio by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Buracan accounted for approximately 3.16% of the total population of Bonifacio, which stood at 34,558 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Buracan moving from 936 residents to 1,093 residents, an intercensal change of +16.8%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Buracan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
