Situated in Brooke's Point, Palawan, Barangay Malis is one of 18 barangays that make up the municipality within MIMAROPA Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Malis had a population of 3,625. This made it the 10th largest of 18 barangays in Brooke's Point by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Malis accounted for approximately 4.90% of the total population of Brooke's Point, which stood at 73,994 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Malis changed from 3,133 to 3,625, a shift of +15.7% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Brooke's Point. Barangay Malis is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Brooke's Point is a municipality comprising 18 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Malis, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
