Barangay Causip

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Causip is one of the administrative divisions of Bula in Camarines Sur, Bicol Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Causip had a population of 2,517. This made it the 9th largest of 33 barangays in Bula by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Causip accounted for approximately 3.44% of the total population of Bula, which stood at 73,143 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Causip moving from 2,554 residents to 2,517 residents, an intercensal change of -1.4%. The trajectory indicates a broadly stable community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Causip as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Bula is a municipality comprising 33 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Causip, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Camarines Sur, which contains 1,063 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Causip ranks 235th by 2020 population. Barangay Causip is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
