Barangay Unidad

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Unidad is one of the administrative divisions of Cagwait in Surigao Del Sur, Caraga, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Unidad had a population of 4,242. This made it the 2nd largest of 11 barangays in Cagwait by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Unidad accounted for approximately 19.51% of the total population of Cagwait, which stood at 21,747 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Unidad moving from 3,766 residents to 4,242 residents, an intercensal change of +12.6%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Unidad as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
