Barangay Balibago

Barangay Balibago is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Calatagan, located in the province of Batangas, in the CALABARZON region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Balibago had a population of 3,849. This made it the 4th largest of 25 barangays in Calatagan by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Balibago accounted for approximately 6.55% of the total population of Calatagan, which stood at 58,719 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Balibago moving from 3,377 residents to 3,849 residents, an intercensal change of +14.0%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Balibago is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Calatagan is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Balibago, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
