Barangay Lipat-on

Situated in Calatrava, Negros Occidental, Barangay Lipat-on is one of 40 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Lipat-on had a population of 1,530. This made it the 21st largest of 40 barangays in Calatrava by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Lipat-on accounted for approximately 1.85% of the total population of Calatrava, which stood at 82,540 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Lipat-on changed from 1,450 to 1,530, a shift of +5.5% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Calatrava. Barangay Lipat-on is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Calatrava is a municipality comprising 40 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Lipat-on, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
