Barangay Bariw

Barangay Bariw is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Camalig, located in the province of Albay, in the Bicol Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bariw had a population of 2,170. This made it the 10th largest of 50 barangays in Camalig by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bariw accounted for approximately 3.01% of the total population of Camalig, which stood at 72,042 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Bariw moving from 2,047 residents to 2,170 residents, an intercensal change of +6.0%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Bariw is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Camalig is a municipality comprising 50 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bariw, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
