Barangay Binitayan

Situated in Camalig, Albay, Barangay Binitayan is one of 50 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Binitayan had a population of 688. This made it the 38th largest of 50 barangays in Camalig by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Binitayan accounted for approximately 0.95% of the total population of Camalig, which stood at 72,042 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Binitayan changed from 590 to 688, a shift of +16.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Camalig. Barangay Binitayan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Camalig is a municipality comprising 50 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Binitayan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
