Barangay Palanog

Situated in Camalig, Albay, Barangay Palanog is one of 50 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Palanog had a population of 3,465. This made it the 5th largest of 50 barangays in Camalig by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Palanog accounted for approximately 4.81% of the total population of Camalig, which stood at 72,042 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Palanog moving from 3,148 residents to 3,465 residents, an intercensal change of +10.1%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Palanog is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Camalig is a municipality comprising 50 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Palanog, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
