Barangay Solong

Situated in Camalig, Albay, Barangay Solong is one of 50 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Solong had a population of 509. This made it the 43rd largest of 50 barangays in Camalig by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Solong accounted for approximately 0.71% of the total population of Camalig, which stood at 72,042 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Solong moving from 433 residents to 509 residents, an intercensal change of +17.6%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Solong is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Camalig is a municipality comprising 50 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Solong, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
