Barangay Salvacion

Situated in Can-Avid, Eastern Samar, Barangay Salvacion is one of 28 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Salvacion had a population of 472. This made it the 19th largest of 28 barangays in Can-Avid by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Salvacion accounted for approximately 2.18% of the total population of Can-Avid, which stood at 21,682 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 474 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 472 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -0.4%, consistent with a broadly stable settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Salvacion as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Can-Avid is a municipality comprising 28 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Salvacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Eastern Samar, which contains 597 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Salvacion ranks 373rd by 2020 population.
