Barangay Malabanban Sur

Barangay Malabanban Sur is a large barangay in the municipality of Candelaria, located in the province of Quezon, in the CALABARZON region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Malabanban Sur had a population of 9,701. This made it the 3rd largest of 25 barangays in Candelaria by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Malabanban Sur accounted for approximately 7.04% of the total population of Candelaria, which stood at 137,881 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 9,123 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 9,701 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +6.3%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Malabanban Sur is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Candelaria is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Malabanban Sur, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
