Barangay Malanggam-Calubacan

Barangay Malanggam-Calubacan is a very small barangay in the municipality of Cardona, located in the province of Rizal, in the CALABARZON region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Malanggam-Calubacan had a population of 346. This made it the 17th largest of 18 barangays in Cardona by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Malanggam-Calubacan accounted for approximately 0.69% of the total population of Cardona, which stood at 50,143 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Malanggam-Calubacan changed from 396 to 346, a shift of -12.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Cardona. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Malanggam-Calubacan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Cardona is a municipality comprising 18 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Malanggam-Calubacan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Rizal, which contains 189 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Malanggam-Calubacan ranks 188th by 2020 population.
