Barangay Guinticgan

Situated in Carles, Iloilo, Barangay Guinticgan is one of 33 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Guinticgan had a population of 3,787. This made it the 3rd largest of 33 barangays in Carles by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Guinticgan accounted for approximately 5.21% of the total population of Carles, which stood at 72,637 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 3,045 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 3,787 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +24.4%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Guinticgan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Carles is a municipality comprising 33 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Guinticgan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Iloilo, which contains 1,901 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Guinticgan ranks 39th by 2020 population. Iloilo is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.
