Barangay Punta Batuanan

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Punta Batuanan is one of the administrative divisions of Carles in Iloilo, Western Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Punta Batuanan had a population of 1,155. This made it the 30th largest of 33 barangays in Carles by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Punta Batuanan accounted for approximately 1.59% of the total population of Carles, which stood at 72,637 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Punta Batuanan changed from 1,194 to 1,155, a shift of -3.3% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Carles. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Punta Batuanan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Carles is a municipality comprising 33 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Punta Batuanan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
