Barangay Cupang West

Situated in City of Balanga, Bataan, Barangay Cupang West is one of 25 barangays that make up the city within Central Luzon.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Cupang West had a population of 2,031. This made it the 20th largest of 25 barangays in City of Balanga by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Cupang West accounted for approximately 1.95% of the total population of City of Balanga, which stood at 104,173 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,811 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,031 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +12.1%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Cupang West is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Balanga is a city comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Cupang West, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
