Barangay Villareal

Barangay Villareal forms part of City of Bayawan, a city in Negros Oriental, and is classified as a large barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Villareal had a population of 10,730. This made it the 1st largest of 28 barangays in City of Bayawan by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Villareal accounted for approximately 8.74% of the total population of City of Bayawan, which stood at 122,747 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 11,265 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 10,730 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -4.7%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Villareal is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Bayawan is a city comprising 28 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Villareal, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
