Barangay Buenavista

Barangay Buenavista is a large barangay in the City of Himamaylan, located in the province of Negros Occidental, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Buenavista had a population of 7,828. This made it the 6th largest of 19 barangays in City of Himamaylan by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Buenavista accounted for approximately 6.73% of the total population of City of Himamaylan, which stood at 116,240 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Buenavista changed from 8,796 to 7,828, a shift of -11.0% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in City of Himamaylan. Barangay Buenavista is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Himamaylan is a city comprising 19 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Buenavista, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
