Barangay Balabag

Situated in City of Kidapawan, Cotabato, Barangay Balabag is one of 40 barangays that make up the city within SOCCSKSARGEN.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Balabag had a population of 2,069. This made it the 21st largest of 40 barangays in City of Kidapawan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Balabag accounted for approximately 1.29% of the total population of City of Kidapawan, which stood at 160,791 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,683 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,069 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +22.9%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Balabag is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Kidapawan is a city comprising 40 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Balabag, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
