Barangay Balindog

Barangay Balindog is a large barangay in the City of Kidapawan, located in the province of Cotabato, in the SOCCSKSARGEN region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Balindog had a population of 7,095. This made it the 6th largest of 40 barangays in City of Kidapawan by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Balindog accounted for approximately 4.41% of the total population of City of Kidapawan, which stood at 160,791 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 5,756 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 7,095 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +23.3%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Balindog is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Kidapawan is a city comprising 40 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Balindog, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Cotabato, which contains 543 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Balindog ranks 20th by 2020 population. Cotabato is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

The barangay's legislative and executive affairs are handled by a Punong Barangay and the Sangguniang Barangay, elected nationwide during the Barangay and SK Elections. The next BSKE is scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, following the synchronized election schedule set by COMELEC Resolution No. 11191.
