Barangay Ara-al

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Ara-al is one of the administrative divisions of City of La Carlota in Negros Occidental, Western Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Ara-al had a population of 2,773. This made it the 13th largest of 14 barangays in City of La Carlota by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Ara-al accounted for approximately 4.16% of the total population of City of La Carlota, which stood at 66,664 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Ara-al moving from 3,194 residents to 2,773 residents, an intercensal change of -13.2%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Ara-al is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of La Carlota is a city comprising 14 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Ara-al, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
