Barangay Batuan

Barangay Batuan is a large barangay in the City of La Carlota, located in the province of Negros Occidental, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Batuan had a population of 6,524. This made it the 4th largest of 14 barangays in City of La Carlota by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Batuan accounted for approximately 9.79% of the total population of City of La Carlota, which stood at 66,664 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Batuan moving from 6,158 residents to 6,524 residents, an intercensal change of +5.9%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Batuan is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of La Carlota is a city comprising 14 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Batuan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
