Barangay II (Pob.)

Barangay II (Pob.) is a large barangay in the City of La Carlota, located in the province of Negros Occidental, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay II (Pob.) had a population of 7,575. This made it the 1st largest of 14 barangays in City of La Carlota by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay II (Pob.) accounted for approximately 11.36% of the total population of City of La Carlota, which stood at 66,664 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay II (Pob.) changed from 7,454 to 7,575, a shift of +1.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with slowly expanding populations in City of La Carlota. Barangay II (Pob.) is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of La Carlota is a city comprising 14 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay II (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Negros Occidental, which contains 662 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay II (Pob.) ranks 92nd by 2020 population. Negros Occidental is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

Like every Philippine barangay, Barangay II (Pob.) is led by an elected Punong Barangay (barangay captain) supported by seven Sangguniang Barangay members (kagawads), an SK Chairperson, a Barangay Secretary, and a Barangay Treasurer. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
