Barangay Carolina

Situated in City of Naga, Camarines Sur, Barangay Carolina is one of 27 barangays that make up the city within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Carolina had a population of 6,870. This made it the 13th largest of 27 barangays in City of Naga by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Carolina accounted for approximately 3.28% of the total population of City of Naga, which stood at 209,170 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 5,841 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 6,870 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +17.6%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Carolina as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Naga is a city comprising 27 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Carolina, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Camarines Sur, which contains 1,063 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Carolina ranks 21st by 2020 population. Barangay Carolina is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
