Barangay Paraiso

Classified as a very large barangay, Barangay Paraiso is one of the administrative divisions of City of Sagay in Negros Occidental, Western Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Paraiso had a population of 15,128. This made it the 2nd largest of 25 barangays in City of Sagay by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Paraiso accounted for approximately 10.16% of the total population of City of Sagay, which stood at 148,894 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 16,741 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 15,128 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -9.6%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Paraiso is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Sagay is a city comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Paraiso, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Negros Occidental, which contains 662 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Paraiso ranks 12th by 2020 population. Negros Occidental is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

The barangay's legislative and executive affairs are handled by a Punong Barangay and the Sangguniang Barangay, elected nationwide during the Barangay and SK Elections. The next BSKE is scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, following the synchronized election schedule set by COMELEC Resolution No. 11191.
