Barangay Plaridel

Barangay Plaridel forms part of City of Sagay, a city in Negros Occidental, and is classified as a mid-sized barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Plaridel had a population of 2,493. This made it the 24th largest of 25 barangays in City of Sagay by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Plaridel accounted for approximately 1.67% of the total population of City of Sagay, which stood at 148,894 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,633 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,493 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -5.3%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Plaridel is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Sagay is a city comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Plaridel, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
