Barangay Poblacion I

Situated in City of Sagay, Negros Occidental, Barangay Poblacion I is one of 25 barangays that make up the city within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Poblacion I had a population of 10,366. This made it the 3rd largest of 25 barangays in City of Sagay by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Poblacion I accounted for approximately 6.96% of the total population of City of Sagay, which stood at 148,894 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 11,231 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 10,366 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -7.7%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Poblacion I is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.
