Barangay Booy

Barangay Booy is a large barangay in the City of Tagbilaran, located in the province of Bohol, in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Booy had a population of 9,996. This made it the 3rd largest of 15 barangays in City of Tagbilaran by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Booy accounted for approximately 9.52% of the total population of City of Tagbilaran, which stood at 104,976 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Booy changed from 9,838 to 9,996, a shift of +1.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with slowly expanding populations in City of Tagbilaran. Barangay Booy is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Tagbilaran is a city comprising 15 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Booy, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Bohol, which contains 1,109 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Booy ranks 3rd by 2020 population.
