Barangay Dao

Situated in City of Tagbilaran, Bohol, Barangay Dao is one of 15 barangays that make up the city within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Dao had a population of 10,695. This made it the 2nd largest of 15 barangays in City of Tagbilaran by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Dao accounted for approximately 10.19% of the total population of City of Tagbilaran, which stood at 104,976 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Dao changed from 8,858 to 10,695, a shift of +20.7% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in City of Tagbilaran. Barangay Dao is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Tagbilaran is a city comprising 15 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Dao, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Bohol, which contains 1,109 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Dao ranks 2nd by 2020 population. Bohol is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

Barangay Dao is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
