Barangay San Jose

Barangay San Jose is a mid-sized barangay in the City of Tanjay, located in the province of Negros Oriental, in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay San Jose had a population of 4,166. This made it the 9th largest of 24 barangays in City of Tanjay by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay San Jose accounted for approximately 5.04% of the total population of City of Tanjay, which stood at 82,642 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay San Jose moving from 4,115 residents to 4,166 residents, an intercensal change of +1.2%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. Barangay San Jose is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
