Barangay Tugas

Classified as a large barangay, Barangay Tugas is one of the administrative divisions of City of Tanjay in Negros Oriental, Central Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Tugas had a population of 6,073. This made it the 2nd largest of 24 barangays in City of Tanjay by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Tugas accounted for approximately 7.35% of the total population of City of Tanjay, which stood at 82,642 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Tugas moving from 5,543 residents to 6,073 residents, an intercensal change of +9.6%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Tugas is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Tanjay is a city comprising 24 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tugas, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
