Barangay Casantaan

Barangay Casantaan is a small barangay in the City of Urdaneta, located in the province of Pangasinan, in the Ilocos Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Casantaan had a population of 1,549. This made it the 30th largest of 34 barangays in City of Urdaneta by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Casantaan accounted for approximately 1.07% of the total population of City of Urdaneta, which stood at 144,577 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Casantaan changed from 1,559 to 1,549, a shift of -0.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with broadly stable populations in City of Urdaneta. Barangay Casantaan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Urdaneta is a city comprising 34 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Casantaan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Pangasinan, which contains 1,364 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Casantaan ranks 865th by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
