Barangay Buenavista

Situated in Dolores, Eastern Samar, Barangay Buenavista is one of 46 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Buenavista had a population of 991. This made it the 16th largest of 46 barangays in Dolores by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Buenavista accounted for approximately 2.22% of the total population of Dolores, which stood at 44,626 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Buenavista moving from 1,063 residents to 991 residents, an intercensal change of -6.8%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Buenavista as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Dolores is a municipality comprising 46 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Buenavista, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
