Barangay Dampigan

Situated in Dolores, Eastern Samar, Barangay Dampigan is one of 46 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Dampigan had a population of 1,429. This made it the 7th largest of 46 barangays in Dolores by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Dampigan accounted for approximately 3.20% of the total population of Dolores, which stood at 44,626 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Dampigan moving from 1,322 residents to 1,429 residents, an intercensal change of +8.1%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Dampigan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Dolores is a municipality comprising 46 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Dampigan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
