Barangay Nueva Villa

Barangay Nueva Villa forms part of Don Marcelino, a municipality in Davao Occidental, and is classified as a mid-sized barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Nueva Villa had a population of 2,079. This made it the 10th largest of 15 barangays in Don Marcelino by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Nueva Villa accounted for approximately 4.57% of the total population of Don Marcelino, which stood at 45,540 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,049 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,079 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +1.5%, consistent with a slowly expanding settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Nueva Villa as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Don Marcelino is a municipality comprising 15 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Nueva Villa, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Davao Occidental, which contains 105 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Nueva Villa ranks 65th by 2020 population.
