Barangay South Lamidan

Barangay South Lamidan is a small barangay in the municipality of Don Marcelino, located in the province of Davao Occidental, in the Davao Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay South Lamidan had a population of 1,654. This made it the 14th largest of 15 barangays in Don Marcelino by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay South Lamidan accounted for approximately 3.63% of the total population of Don Marcelino, which stood at 45,540 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay South Lamidan changed from 1,700 to 1,654, a shift of -2.7% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Don Marcelino. Barangay South Lamidan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Don Marcelino is a municipality comprising 15 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay South Lamidan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
