Barangay Gamay Central (Pob.)

Barangay Gamay Central (Pob.) is a small barangay in the municipality of Gamay, located in the province of Northern Samar, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Gamay Central (Pob.) had a population of 856. This made it the 12th largest of 26 barangays in Gamay by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Gamay Central (Pob.) accounted for approximately 3.66% of the total population of Gamay, which stood at 23,367 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 727 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 856 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +17.7%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Gamay Central (Pob.) is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Gamay is a municipality comprising 26 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Gamay Central (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
