Barangay Poblacion Ward 4-A

Barangay Poblacion Ward 4-A is a small barangay in the municipality of Guiuan, located in the province of Eastern Samar, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Poblacion Ward 4-A had a population of 625. This made it the 30th largest of 60 barangays in Guiuan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion Ward 4-A accounted for approximately 1.17% of the total population of Guiuan, which stood at 53,361 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Poblacion Ward 4-A changed from 782 to 625, a shift of -20.1% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Guiuan. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Poblacion Ward 4-A as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Guiuan is a municipality comprising 60 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion Ward 4-A, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
