Barangay Consuelo

Situated in Ilog, Negros Occidental, Barangay Consuelo is one of 15 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Consuelo had a population of 1,240. This made it the 15th largest of 15 barangays in Ilog by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Consuelo accounted for approximately 2.07% of the total population of Ilog, which stood at 59,855 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Consuelo changed from 1,058 to 1,240, a shift of +17.2% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Ilog. Barangay Consuelo is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Ilog is a municipality comprising 15 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Consuelo, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
