Barangay Quiapo

Situated in Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental, Barangay Quiapo is one of 26 barangays that make up the municipality within Davao Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Quiapo had a population of 1,886. This made it the 21st largest of 26 barangays in Jose Abad Santos by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Quiapo accounted for approximately 2.57% of the total population of Jose Abad Santos, which stood at 73,381 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,112 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,886 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -10.7%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Quiapo is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Barangay Quiapo is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
