Barangay Poblacion

Classified as a large barangay, Barangay Poblacion is one of the administrative divisions of Kalilangan in Bukidnon, Northern Mindanao, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Poblacion had a population of 6,852. This made it the 2nd largest of 14 barangays in Kalilangan by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion accounted for approximately 15.68% of the total population of Kalilangan, which stood at 43,711 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Poblacion moving from 7,284 residents to 6,852 residents, an intercensal change of -5.9%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Poblacion is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Kalilangan is a municipality comprising 14 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Barangay Poblacion is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
