Barangay Avanzada

Barangay Avanzada forms part of Leon, a municipality in Iloilo, and is classified as a very small barangay.

This made it the 74th largest of 85 barangays in Leon by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Avanzada changed from 268 to 231, a shift of -13.8% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Leon. Barangay Avanzada is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Leon is a municipality comprising 85 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Avanzada, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
