Barangay Bayag Norte

Barangay Bayag Norte is a very small barangay in the municipality of Leon, located in the province of Iloilo, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bayag Norte had a population of 430. This made it the 40th largest of 85 barangays in Leon by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bayag Norte accounted for approximately 0.83% of the total population of Leon, which stood at 51,990 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 401 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 430 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +7.2%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Bayag Norte is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Leon is a municipality comprising 85 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bayag Norte, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Iloilo, which contains 1,901 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Bayag Norte ranks 1418th by 2020 population.
