Barangay Bayag Sur

Classified as a very small barangay, Barangay Bayag Sur is one of the administrative divisions of Leon in Iloilo, Western Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bayag Sur had a population of 359. This made it the 48th largest of 85 barangays in Leon by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bayag Sur accounted for approximately 0.69% of the total population of Leon, which stood at 51,990 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 410 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 359 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -12.4%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Bayag Sur is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
