Barangay Cagay

Barangay Cagay is a very small barangay in the municipality of Leon, located in the province of Iloilo, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Cagay had a population of 316. This made it the 56th largest of 85 barangays in Leon by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cagay accounted for approximately 0.61% of the total population of Leon, which stood at 51,990 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Cagay moving from 310 residents to 316 residents, an intercensal change of +1.9%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. Barangay Cagay is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
